London: T Woolmer, 1883 Book. Good. Brown Decorated Boards. Presumed First Edition.. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Story set in Rome, by the Canadian Methodist minister William Henry Withrow (1839-1908), author of a major historical study of the Christian Catacombs of Rome, published in 1874. 172pp, illustrated with black and white engraving to frontis and decorated chapter heads. Drawing and lettering in black and gilt to top board and spine, patterned endpapers. Slight bumping to spine and corners, edges dust marked, with small red stain to lower edges, left hinge starting to pull and presentation inscription dated 1883 to endpaper, otherwise good copy..
