In the original publishers pictorial dustjacket. There is some minor creasing/slight paper loss to the top and bottom of the dustjacket spine, and a neat closed tear. The d/j is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks VG. The page fore-edges have slight foxing (light tan spots). The top edge is red. Internally Map endpapers. NO Inscriptions or other Marks. (xix) + 348 pp. Illustrated with 24 b/w illustrations, many 2 or more illustrations per plate, and 4 b/w maps. Eight Appendices; Source Notes; Bibliography; Index. Overall, apart fom the minor 'faults', as detailed above, this is an Excellent, Clean, Tight and Bright, 'Near Fine' copy. " Colonel Barker paints a detailed and vigorous account of the Crimean campaigns. He points up the virtues and defects of the strategy, diplomacy and military administration on both sides; and finally nominates the British soldier as the hero of the campaign."
