Paris: Au Comptoir des Imprimeurs-Unis, 1845. 1845 2-volume set (complete). VERY GOOD. Books are clean, totally unmarked. Pages supple - no foxing or staining. Firmly bound in quarter-leather: marbled paper over boards with leather spines. Spines have gilt-stamped titles and decorative ruling. Marbled endpapers. Binding and hinges are firm and intact. Covers clean though moderately shelf worn: edges rubbed to board, spine ends chipped and spine leather scuffed - Volume 1 quite heavily. A rare surviving copy of a work (loose translation "The Unsilvered Mirror") by the once popular French historian and novelist. Bonnellier evidently enjoyed a brief, seemingly inglorious political career as Secretary to the Provisional Government in the interregnum between Charles X and Louis Philippe which he wrote about in "Mémorial de l'Hôtel-de-Ville de Paris, 1830." 5 x 8-1/2". Volume 1: viii + 344 pages. Volume 2: iv + 347 pages. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Not Issued.
