New York: Dodd, Mead and Company, 1898. First edition, first printing. Hardcover. Very good. First state, with the author's name misspelled on the front board. Gray cloth blocked in black, silver and gold. Light wear to the hinges and rubbing to the gilt else a very good copy. The cover design is credited to "GWE". There is a handwritten notice on the front free endpaper that this copy was awarded to Miss Gertrude Nelson by the Academy of Mary Immaculate in 1914.
