Clean hardback tightly bound in full black leather with gilt titles on a red spine panel, gilt bordering, minor rubbing at corners, page 22 is duplicated (printers error, no text missing) and has been crossed through with pencil, otherwise no inscriptions. Bound with 'A sketch of the life of John Bunyan', by the same publisher, dated 1813 - no portrait. 384 + 30 pages, frontispiece, 4 engravings on plates, engraved title page to 'A sketch' [presumably constituting the 6 beautiful engravings referred to on the title page as there don't appear to be any plates missing] .
