Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1776. First edition, 1776. Includes only four of the seven maps. Front cover detached. Important account 18th century travel in Greece, including a meticulous account of the ruins at Athens. Contemporary marbled boards with calf spine, red spine label, 304 pages. Covers heavily rubbed with front cover detached but present, text block sound, large chips to the lower 20% of two leaves but professionally repaired with the missing text neatly handwritten in place, minor dampstains to the lower edge of the first three leaves, title page foxed with public library blindstamp in right margin and two tiny numbers on reverse side (no other library markings), front free endpaper absent. Folding map of Greece and Peloponnesus good with a closed tear affecting about three inches of the printed area, other maps very good. Missing maps: Plan of Port Piraeus, Plan of Athens, Chart of the Isthmus of Corinth - they appear to have never been bound in. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Fair. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
