White linen cloth hardcover boards with brown blind stamp of Charley on the front cover, black and brown lettering on spine. Pictorial endpapers by Don Freeman. Sightly bumped corners and one archival tape trait to back of FFE and Title page. Otherwise, binding tight and text clean. No other marks or defects noted. DJ has open tear to top of front cover, closed tear and one one tear to rear jacket flap. Some age toning and chipping along edge margins. DJ is price clipped. This was John Steinbeck's last book, he won the Nobel prize for Literature in the years of its publication in 1962. Mylar protected.

Synopsis

Travels with Charley: In Search of America is a travelogue by American author John Steinbeck. It documents the road trip he took with his French standard poodle Charley around the United States, in 1960. He wrote that he was moved by a desire to see his country on a personal level, since he made his living writing about it.
