The politics aimed at protecting the Indians appears during the term of President Lázaro Cárdenas. It tried to incorporate the Indian to the social, economic and cultural levels; from then onwards, the education of ethnic groups has been chatacterized, first, by an indigenous politics which pretended to integrate the Indians through culture and Spanish language processes and, later on, by means of an indigenous bilingual-cultural politics that called the former into question and that pretended not only to teach them the scientific contents of Western culture but also rescue the ethnical contents.
Condition: Light edge wear, back wrapper creased else better than very good.
