Father Vandenberg's well illustrated book records his ethnographic observations on the Wanyika, Wakamba, Wakikuyu, Masai, and Kavirondo, as well as Mambutu pygmies. The book is based on his journey from Mombassa through Kenya, Tanzania,, Uganda, and the Congo Basin during 1919.
