Tragic Ground in tan cloth boards with gilt lettering and red stripes on spine; some acidification to endpapers; top of text block dust stained; 195 pp. A House in the Uplands in yellow cloth boards with green on spine; Falcon Press's titled and date stamped "With Compliments" card laid in; 176 pp. Dust jackets rubbed; light edge wear (small chip to bottom edge of rear panel of Uplands); general soiling on rear panels (bit of penciling on Tragic Ground); not price clipped (8s. 6d.). DJ's in clear archival sleeves. Two novels by the American author Erskine Caldwell: Tragic Ground (1944) and A House in the Uplands (1946).
