Rinehart, 1876-1956, was an American playwright and novelist, especially known for her mystery stories. She was very popular in the early 20th century. This is one of a number of stories about a dauntless spinster and her middle-aged cronies. First Edition thus, assumed. 284 pages, text unmarked. Pages lightly toned, square. Water stain at bottom edge, rep stained in gutter. Spine darkened, back cover has areas of black staining, corners bumped and frayed.
