Department of Defence. Very Good. 1968. Softcover. An original collection of Nuclear and Natural disaster material. The handbook is edge worn and lightly foxed, scuffed, but retains the original "Distributed by Unified San Digo County Civil Defense" sticker. 92pp, illustrated. A few pen notations. A folder adhered inside the back cover holds the owner collected ephemera. All pieces are FINE, and published or distributed by the San Diego Civil Defense and Disaster Organization. 1.) Membership card, 6-17-69, filled out by type and hand signed by the Director; 2 & 3.) Two emergency action cards, illustrated with instruction on reverse : Insufflation (rescue breathing), Control Severe Bleeding. 4.) PROTECT YOURSELF FROM
FALLOUT. n.d. Fourfold brochure, blue type, printed on both sides. Illustrated with graphics and photographs, includes photos of Ion chamber, Dosimeter and Charger and Geiger Counter and a two week graph of radioactive levels. 5.) Expedient Fallout Shelters. Stapled, 7 pages printed on both sides for a total of 14pp. The cover page is printed on golden rod yellow paper, includes the organization heading, address, phone, etc., and covers an overview of design types, specs and protection. This is followed by a white sheet. Object: Survival. Graphic of FAQ, further explanation on recto. The following section is composed of a reprint from the Stanford Research Institute booklet "Live" is a graphic of protection types & level, followed by basic building designs. 6.) SDCCD News Letter, Activities Report for Calendar 1967. 4 Pp. 7.) Natural Disaster in San Diego County: Fire, Earthquake, Flood. # 1B-14. Two sided. Illustrated. 8.)
