About This Item

Doubleday, New York, (1994), 2nd printing. Unpaginated, 4to (11 3/4" H), hard cover in dust jacket. Beautifully illustrated in color. "A man in a hot-air balloon is blown off course in a violent storm, landing in an ancient town. He realizes that he has somehow returned to the city of his childhood (Prague). He finds his way to his old home, but the house is dark, with three rusty padlocks on the door. He knows he must find the keys that will let him in. A black cat with magic eyes appears and lead the man through the lonely, silent streets in search of the keys. Three times they come to a special place from his childhood, three times the seasons change, and three times an old Czech legend is revealed to them. To each legend a gold key is attached..." Very light edge wear to boards. Dust jacket has ligh edge wear, moderate edge wrinkling along top edge, three very small closed tears, tiny dent on rear hinge. Very Good + / Very Good -.
