They were somewhat romantic figures, but were dedicated to the overthrow of the Czarist government by any means, including murder. Includes chapters on Sergey Nechayev, Andrey Zhelyabov, Yegor Sazonov, and Ivan Kaliayev. Zhelyabov was involved in the murder of Alexander II. Despite their efforts to bring about revolution, they were overwhelmed and often eliminated by the Bolsheviks. A very interesting perspective on the ferment in Russia in the early 1900s. Octavo.
