Philadelphia: Carey and Hart. Fair with no dust jacket. 1840. First US Edition. Hardcover. Book is slightly cocked. Rear cover is missing most of surface. Front cover has a loose piece which is creased and light rubbing. Covers have wear to the outer edges. Spine has slight wear to the ends. Fragments of the spine label remain. Front inner hinge is mostly cracked. A piece of rear free endpaper is torn and creased. Foxing to front and rear, including the title page. Scattered slight foxing to the other pages. Private book plate on front endpaper. ; Volume One, only. .
