FIRST EDITION IN THIS SOFT COVER FORMAT (1952) PRICE 1/6 on upper cover. 140 x 132 mm, 5½ x 5¼ inches, cloth backed colour illustrated limp brown card covers, black and white photo of Blyton on lower cover, 32 pages. Lovely coloured title illustration of Teddy and his friend Golly, coloured and black and white illustrations throughout by Eileen Soper of which 3 coloured and 2 black and white feature Golly. No inscriptions, rust marks to spine cloth from staples. Otherwise a very good plus crisp clean copy. First published in 1945 in a tall format with hard covers. The earliest copy of our edition listed by Summerfield is priced 1/9 in a single white diamond in the lower margin of the upper cover and also on the lower cover. Ours is priced 1/6 in the middle diamond of 3, most likely over printed, and there is no price on the lower cover. See Volume II, page 128.
