Portland: F. W. Baltes & Co, 1905. First Thus. Hardcover. Good. Lewis and Clark edition. Pictorial blue cloth. 136pp. Illus. Tipped-in leaf with portrait of author and signed, "Yours Very Truly / J. W. Hayes." Ordinarily this would be a lithographed signature, however because the leaf was not bound in and because my magnification of the signature does not reveal lithographic markers, I am not sure. Please consider it lithographed nonetheless. Wear to extremities. Good copy.

A collection of 23 short stories of the Sierra Mountain region. Orginally published in 1900.
