London: George G. Harrap, 1932. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine. Printed in Paris by H. Piazza & Cie. 10" x 7.5", 207 (1) pp, with 10 full-page color plates and many other color illustrations in the text. A fine copy in publishers illustrated cloth binding. Mario Laboccetta (1899-1988) was born in Naples, but moved as a young man to Paris, where he gained fame for his richly colored, detailed, and sometimes erotic illustrations for posters, magazines, and books -- most notably this volume and an edition of Baudelaire's Les Fleurs du Mal.
