About This Item
London: Longmans, Green & Co, 1899. First Edition. Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Dark blue cloth with gilt lettering to front board and to spine. Black and white frontispiece and plates. There is some fading to the cloth along the fore edge of the front board and to the spine, which has turned it a deep green. pp 247 and 249 have closed tears to the fore edge that just touch the text: these have been professionally sealed. The pages of the book around this point are heavily foxed: this fades away as you move forward and backward through the text block.
