Unclipped dust jacket with original price present ($2.00), with 2 tape repairs, split at joint of jacket spine visible from reverse, chipping at edges, less than centimeter loss at head and tail, tanned. Hemingway's first novel. When it was published in 1926, The New York Times described it as, "No amount of analysis can convey the quality of The Sun Also Rises. It is a truly gripping story, told in a lean, hard, athletic narrative prose that puts more literary English to shame."
Synopsis
Based on real events and acquaintances of Hemingway, Sun Also Rises is about American and English expats in Pamplona.
Reviews
This was the one book I never read from EH. I have to say it is an outstanding achievement of the human experience. What a book! Finishing it gives you a feeling of what's real, eternal and why our lives are full of contradictions.
This book is a classic for any shelf. I recommend starting out with this story if you're not familiar with Hemingway's work.
