About This Item
London: Constable and Co. Ltd., 1927 . First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Good. 8" by 5.5". Bold. The first edition of this illustrated collection of poetry by Walter De La Mare in the original dust wrapper. First edition of Stuff and Nonsense and So On by Walter de la Mare in the original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper. A lovely collection of limericks and poetry by the English poet, short story writer, and novelist. Walter de la Mare is best known for his children's works. He was awarded the Carnegie Medal for Collected Stories for Children (1947) and the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for Memoirs of a Midget in 1921. Containing such verses as 'Moonshine', 'Fish', 'Bishop Winterbourne', 'The Pretender', 'The Accompaniment' and 'The Blackbird'.Densely illustrated with many in-text woodcuts by Bold. In the original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart. There is some light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The spine is slightly faded. The dust wrapper is quite worn, with a large open tear to the spine, some loss to the head of the spine, and slight loss to the extremities. There are also some prominent creases, age toning, and some spots. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the odd spot. Very Good Indeed
