Hard cover in very good condition with blue boards, black spine cloth, and gilt lettering and red lines on spine. Text block clean & tight; no writing, no markings noted. Dust jacket very good with clhip at top of front and larger chip on back top near spine (see photo.) * Bernard Malamud began writing in the 1940s and was published in university presses; he sold his first story in 1949 by 1959 won the National book Award. He 1983 he gathered together this collection of his short stories. It has been said of his stories, ""that they are radiant with personal vision. Compassionate and profound in their wry humor, they capture the poetry of human relationships at the point where reality and imagination meet."" See photos 3 and 4 for a list of stories included.
