Royal octavo HC in original creamy yellow heavy cloth with titles blockd in gilt to cover and spine and a pictorial pitcher in blue center of the upper board. Issued in an edition limited to 420 copies, this copy signed by the author on the limitation leaf but not numbered. Soundly bound and neat; mild shelf tapping bottom front corners; superficial toning to cloth at spine. Here and there a thumb smudge to a pgae; tiny spot of soiling front board. Illustrated with tissue guarded color plates and 159 high quality half-tones of examples. Includes facsimile documents and manuscript entries. Uncommon in condition. VG ...
