Blue marbled boards and spine with bright gilt lettering and rules within a black field on the spine. 322 pp 8vo. This novel is one of Rhodes' few attempts to write a love story. Set in territorial New Mexico in the late 1800s Rhodes writes with fidelity to time and place and incident of the Old West complete with his essayish jeremiad against literary realism. A story of cold-blooded murder, vilany, raw justice, and of good men and true. This is Volume 43 of The Western Frontier Library series. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
