About This Item
160 pages. Good condition. Pages are clean with no writing or markings; only a small gift inscription to the inside front cover. Red cloth over board with some loss of cloth to the top and bottom of the spine, affecting the gilt lettering. A few discoloration spots to the front and rear cover; some soiling to the spine. Some splitting (between the frontispiece and title page, pages 48-49, 64-65, 112-113) but all pages are secure and the binding remains strong. First printed by D. Appleton and Company, 1895; this printing from the original plates.
