A compilation of short stories and anthologies from Volume XLI and XLII of St. Nicholas Magazine, wonderfully illustrated by artists including Arthur Rackham. Comprised of six issues of St. Nicholas Magazine, bound together in green cloth.St. Nicholas Magazine was a popular monthly periodical aimed at children, published in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. It contained a wide variety of articles and stories by authors including Louisa May Alcott, Mark Twain, Laura E. Richards, and many others. This particular collection is comprised of Volume XLI and XLII from 1914, with issues from XLI containing July (no. 9), August (no. 10), September (no. 11), October (no. 12) and issues from XLII containing November (no. 1) and December (no. 2). With writers in these particular issues including Eleanor Schureman, Doris Webb, Frances Hodgson Burnett and many others. Wonderfully illustrated throughout by artists including Arthur Rackham, with the occasional full-page Rackham illustration being in bright colour. Bound in green cloth. Externally, sound, with slight bumping and rubbing to the extremities. Small tears to the head and tail of the spine, with light markings to cloth. Bookseller label to the rear paste down. Internally firmly bound, although there is a tear to the gutter of the frontispiece. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good
