Full leather binding under 20th cent protective paper cover. Gallonius, Antonius (d. 1605) a priest of the congregation of the oratory, was a native of Rome. His works were numerous, but he is chiefly known by this work first published in 1597. The Congregation of the Oratory of Saint Philip Neri is a pontifical society of apostolic life of Catholic priests and lay-brothers who live together in a community bound together by no formal vows but only with the bond of charity.
