The Southern Historical Society was an organization founded by Confederate Major General Dabney Herndon Maury in 1869 that documented Southern military and civilian viewpoints from the American Civil War. These were compiled into the Southern Historical Society "Papers", comprising 52 volumes of articles written by Southern soldiers, officers, politicians, and civilians, published from 1877 to 1959. This volume is a reprint from Broadfoot Publishing Company. Hardcover with debossed boards and gilt decoration to spine and front.
