New York: Random House, 1935. An exceptionally fine and bright first trade edtion INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY ROBINSON JEFFERS. "Inscribed for ----With best New Year's Wishes, Robinson Jeffers. Tor House, Carmel, California. December 31, 1935." Full green cloth titled in gilt, matching green topstain, printed on wove paper without watermark, fore and bottom edges rough-trimmed. Fine pale green paper dust jacket with woodcut portrait of Jeffers. Printed from type set by the Grabhorn Press, with devices by Mallette Dean and initials by Jospeh Sinel. Bookplate of book collector Harold Douthit (mostly concealed under the jacket flap). Enclosed in a custom full charcoal grey cloth slipcase with black leather spine label printed in gilt. Trade editions inscribed or signed by Jeffers are much rarer than his limited - signed editions. A beautiful copy for the Jeffers collector. Broomfield A20. See photos. . Signed by Author.
