About This Item

This is a first edition of The Soldier's Trade: British Military Developments 1660-1914, written by Frederick Myatt, who won the Military Cross at Burma, then became curator at The Weapons Museum at the School of Infantry.

This book traces the development of small arms and artillery and explains the influence of ever-increasing firepower on British battlefield tactics. It also discusses scientific discovery and military invention and organization.

319 pages, unclipped dust jacket. The original owner has signed it, in pencil.
The only wear to this book is to the dust jacket, which is in poor shape. The book itself is pristine.
