London : Sampson Low, Marston and Company, 1892. First edition. Cloth. Good. 7.5" by 5". None. The first collected edition of these stories from Rudyard Kipling. The three soldiers of the title are Learoyd, Mulvaney and Ortheris, who had also appeared previously in the collection Plain Tales from the Hills. In a blue cloth binding with gilt detailing. Externally, sound, though with some slight bumping and a few marks. Some cocking to the spine also. Internally, generally firmly bound although strained in places. Blindstamp to the rear endpaper. Pages are bright, though with some scattered instances of foxing and some handling marks Good
