New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1913. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. Fine in an about Very Good jacket, generally toned and soiled, rubbed at the edges, a few chips and closed tears. Grey cloth on the boards with gilt lettering and rules on the spine and front board. Square and firmly bound, gilt top edge, toned at the endpapers, frontispiece of Henry James Sr. and Jr., clean otherwise. This is a first issue copy without the mention of Notes of a Son and Brother in preparation. This copy comes from the personal collection of Caldecott Medal-winning illustrator Maurice Sendak.
Synopsis
A Small Boy and Others is a book of autobiography by Henry James published in 1913. The book covers James' earliest years and discusses his intellectually active family, his intermittent schooling, and his first trips to Europe.
