London, England: London, UK: Eyre and Spottiswoode; 1946, 1950, 1959, 1st Edition First Printing / London: Hodder, 1996 / London: Mervyn Peake Society, 1990 / London: Heinemann, 1953 (all are 1st Edition, First Printing , 1946. ---Consigned Books -----------6 volumes (ONE SHIPPING PRICE ), (ONE SIGNED), all are hardcovers except WAKES which is a slim pamphlet, THE GORMENGHAST TRILOGY = about 5.5 x 8.5 inches, all with dust jackets; ---Titus Groan, first edition, second impression (actually First Printing but as stated on the dust jacket this is a actually 2nd state dustjacket as when E&S produced this book they did not produce enough dustjackets so those jacketless copies were given this 2nd state jacket which states Second Impression on the front flap and added reviews that were not on the original jacket), red cloth, about Very Good with some very light tip wear, a tight square copy, a bit of age toning to the outer edges of the text block, a bit of age toning to the paper, a wee bit of foxing to the endpapers, remnants of an old booksellers label on verso of front cover, all corners are gently bumped, ---in an unclipped dust jacket, a Good to Very Good dustjacket with a couple of small very small nicks and some flaking to the upper spine tip, some staining to the predominately white rear panel, some age darkening to the spine of the jacket, looks quite nice overall ----- Gormenghast, a solid bright Very Good+ copy in red cloth, bumped lower corners, the unclipped dust jacket is Very Good to Very Good+, unnecessary (old) tape on verso of jacket at tips and flap folds, small nick at lower spine tip, a bit of age toning to the spine, some light soiling to the predominately rear white panel, a nice copy ----- Titus Alone, a solid Very Good copy in red cloth, lower corners are ever so slightly bumped, a wee bit of rubbing to the board edges, a wee bit of tiny speckling/mottling to the red cloth, in an unclipped dust jacket which is Very Good+, small amount of (old) tape on verso of jacket to prevent loss at folds and tips, ---this trilogy presents very well ---BOY is a Hodder publication and is a Near Fine copy in a Near Fine dustjacket, iillustrations and cover art by P J Lynch, billed as "Titus Groan's journey from Gormenghast ---AWAKES is from 1990 and was published by the MPSociety, a Near Fine pamphlet, 6 x 8.25 inches, intro by John Watney, unpaginated ( 12 pages with title page, etc), a collection of notes by Peake intended as a starting point for a final Titus volume, expanded and completed into a full length story by Maeve Gilmore and rediscovered by the family and published in the early part of this century this pamphlet pre-dates that publication by almost 20 years ----MR PYE is a Heinemann 1st edition, a solid Good to Very Good copy, blue cloth with light soiling, some rubbing, age toning to the spine which has made the lettering difficult to read, a bit of age toning to the paper, some small spots/mottling to the blue cloth-in a Good to Very Good dustjacket, light wear, some shallow chipping, age toning to the spine has dulled the spine lettering, some soiling and rubbing to the predominately white rear panel, this copy has been signed "With very best wishes from Mervyn Peake 1956 -", signed in the year of publication and obviously quite scarce thus, any image directly beside this listing is the actual book and not a generic photo ---these books are consigned ///SIGNED (ONE VOLUME) ---GUARANTEED to be AVAILABLE///.
