Nice condition antique copy of "SHOOTING - Field and Covert" by Lord Walsingham and Sir Ralph Payne-Gallwey. 1886 1st edition; Little, Brown and Co.; Boston. The book features illustrations and portraits throughout (many of which are full-page). Decorative end papers.

The contents are as follows: Shooting, Past and Present; Hints for Beginners; A Short History of Gun-Making; Prices of Guns; The Choice of a Gun; Shooters; Partridge Shooting; Pheasant Shooting; Rearing; Rabbit Shooting; Vermin; Keepers; Poachers and Poaching; Dogs and Dog-Breaking; Pigeon Shooting from Traps; Index.

Condition:
Clean front cover and spine; some very light soiling on the back cover. Tiny cloth tear at the lower-out front cover corner tip. There are a couple tiny cloth tears at the top and bottom edges of the spine. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. Nice interior - the text pages are clean with no notable issues found. Previous owner's bookplate affixed to the front pastedown. The pastedowns and title page each have a previous owner's name/address stamped in ink. Overall the book is in Very Good+ condition.
