New York: Foreign Committee, Board of Missions, 1874. First edition. Wraps. Very Good. 5 7/8 x 7 1/8 inches. 27 pages. Pages bright and clean and free from marking, soiling or staining. Corners and margins chipped with slight marginal losses not affecting text. Bound in original grey-blue wraps which are detached and lightly soiled and chipped. Sepia toned image of Auer (presumed) inside front cover. A very good copy of this rare pamphlet containing Bedell's funeral sermon commemorating the life of Gottlieb Bauer, a notable advocate of Episcopal missions, especially to "Negroes." The rear cover has a special notice for the rebuilding of a church in Liberia as a memorial.
