Grey cloth on the boards with gilt lettering and rules on the spine and front board. Square and firmly bound, gilt top edge, toned at the endpapers, clean otherwise. The first US edition of James's novel about an outcry over selling great British works out of the country, issued simultaneously with the first English edition.
