About This Item
Dust Jacket: Tears and creases on DJ edges caused by shelf wear (photo). Moderate toning on panels, heavy toning on the spine. The flaps are intact and the original retail price, $3.50, is shown (photo). The DJ has now been covered by a clear Mylar cover.
Book: Moderate and uniform toning on pages. Pages 591 and continuing were accidentally dog-eared on the U/R quadrant, then straightened. Creases are still visible but not distracting. All pages are present and have no markings.
From the DJ Front Panel: "For the past 15 years the lyrical voice of Robinson Jeffers has dominated American Poetry."
"Today his contemporaries ungrudgingly acknowledge him as the leading exponent of rugged native poetry."
125 selected poems from the author and his wife, Una, to whom he dedicates this book. First publication of four of Jeffers poems.
Attribute: The presumed original owner folded and then paper-clipped a book review of this book contemporaneous with the publication date. The publisher is unknown but it appears to be a periodic book review journal.
The tip-in was carefully detached and unfolded for a photograph. Shown is the complimentary review, plus a remarkably attractive and detailed ink sketch of the author (photo). The tip-in was then returned to its original placement using the same 86-year-old paperclip on the same page-imprint location.
