Although the volume has no date, the Avon editions were published between 1892 and 1902. 348 p., clean and unmarked--not ex-lib., no former owner's name; paper quite age-toned--some chipping on edges of t.p. and first page of ch. I; imitation pigskin binding firm, though signature beginning to crack between pp. 3342 & 343; imitation pigskin boards are quite scuffed at edges and there is a small ink stain on upper front corner; gilt laurel-leaf ornamentation and lettering on spine is faded but legible.
