Keene NH: John Prentiss, 1814. Ninth edition. Hardcover. Good. Octavo; pp; 216; quarter leather and marbled paper covered boards; Internally complete and very good. Externally the boards are worn and nearly detached, leather spine ends worn. Daniel Adams (1773-1864) was a noted physician, textbook author, and state legislator. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1797, and received his M.D. in 1799. Adams compiled or wrote several different textbooks over the course of his life. His first was The Scholar's Arithmetic (1801). The text was very popular during the first quarter of the 19th century, and he published a revision of it, entitled Adam's New Arithmetic, in 1827.
