The Scarlet Scouts: A Story of the Great War, D. H. Parry. Published by Cassell, London. Circa 1915. Assumed First Edition. 8vo up to 9½" tall., 312pp. with four illustrations in colour by Dudley Tennant. Blue cloth boards with colour illustrations to front and spine; gilt titles; bevelled edges. Inscription to free endpaper dated Christmas 1918; contents are otherwise without markings; all plates are accounted for. Boards have light rubbing to edges; outside edges have foxing. A very collectible copy of a rare title.
An adventure story, based on a true story, set at the outbreak of World War 1, where a team of British scouts based in Belgium face the German assault on the Belgium city of Liege in August 1914.
