About This Item
London: Andre Deutsch, 1962. First British Edition . Hardcover. Good/Good. A Good copy (1962 gift inscription), in a Good (at best) dust jacket with several short tears, light wear at the spine tips, a small circular chip at the middle of the front panel (with no damage to the book), and an inch-and-a-half tear at the top edge of the rear panel. Tanning/soiling at the outer edges of the text block, tanning to the endpapers. One story on the Table of Contents page has a check beside it. The binding is tight and the text is clean. A clipped signature of the author is tipped in at the gutter at the half title page. It came, we are told, from a signed broadside nearly destroyed in the mail. The limitation lines from the broadside have also been preserved and are laid in loosely, as a signature authentication.
