The work was unpopular both with its contemporary readers and the author himself (he left it out of his later collected works), but later praised by writers including Rebecca West and Ezra Pound. Octavo. Original brown cloth, titles and rules to spine and upper board, top edge gilt. Housed in a brown cloth solander box. Spine cocked and faded, gilt bright: a near-fine copy.
