About This Item

New York, NY Charles Scribner's Sons, 1907. Hardcover Very Good: shows light wear to extremities; considerable rubbing; the blue cloth background field of the backstrip is mildly sunned, which dulls the gilt titles very slightly, but they remain clearly legible; dampstaining to the top edge of the text block (penetrates into the text pages about a quarter inch) and very faintly evident at the upper portion of the rear panel; the former owner's name inscribed in lovely flowing hand at the front free endpaper. The binding remains square and secure; the text is clean. Despite these flaws, remains clean, sturdy, and quite presentable: a handsome reading copy. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. ix, 364 pages. Frontispiece original drawing by Chominski. Navy blue full linen cloth over boards with gilt decorated spine and borders, with fleur de lys at the middle of the front panel. Top Edge Gilt. Rag Fore-edge. Hardback: Lacks DJ.
