Garden City: Doubleday, Page & Company, 1923. This is a Good copy of Capek's famous play that popularized the word "robot" for the first time. 187 pages. w/ photo frontispiece and illustration plate from the theater production. No dustjacket (as issued).
Bound in publisher's orange cloth with black lettering. Originally published in Prague in 1920, this is the First American Edition (stated first edition). A highly-sought and scarce title in dystopian literature.
Some discoloration to spine and hardcover edges. Bumped corners on top right front and top left back. Over opened at page 70, and hinge crack at back board (both pictured). Interior pages are clean and in great shape.
