He served in Korea and Vietnam, and is proud of being combat ready in every aircraft the US Air Force has up to the F-106. He is an experienced fighter, with forty-three seperate awards and decorations, including four Distinguished Flying Crosses, two Silver Stars, and one Air Force Cross. He retired in 1968, and is the author of two other highley acclaimed books on the US Air Force: Thud Ridge, and Going Downtown: The War against Hanoi and Washington.. Hard Cover.
