Bound in half blue calf leather and paler blue cloth, raised bands, 4 spine panels filled with an intricate gold design, endpapers made of royal blue marble paper with "veins" in blue and very pale grey, gilded page edges, frontis engraving "Scylla", 13 other engraved plates, 2 maps, 391pp. One corner bumped, surface of board cloth slightly scuffed. Condition of text and illustrations is vg. Owner's name on front fly leaf.
