About This Item
Nashville: Holman Bible Publishers, 1982. Paperback. 8vo. Stiff glossy pictorial wrappers. 261pp. Numerous illustrations. Near fine. First of this softbound edition of the late astronaut's memoir, first published in 1973. On the half-title page, he boldly inscribes and signs in black fineline to "St. Orres Family / His Love / Jim Irwin / Apollo 15" with his trademark crescent moon figure. Irwin (1930-91) was the eighth American to walk on the moon and this account offers much firsthand data about the 1971 Apollo 15 voyage. Laid in is Irwin's business card.
