About This Item
San Francisco: Paul Elder and Company, 1902. Paperback. Illustrations by Gelett Burgess. Small 4to. Stiff tan wrappers with brown, black and burgundy lettering and decorations. (5ppp). Frontispiece, full-page line drawings, decorative borders. Good. Outer wrappers typically worn, with 1½" chip at tail of spine; as always, text block moderately age toned. First edition of this delicate tongue-in-cheek production "Translated from the Original Bornese into English Verse" by this American author of humorous verse, sketches, pastiches and much other foolishness (1875-1959). Believe it or not, this decent but handle-with-care copy is about as good as the softbound edition gets.
