Folded brochure 8 ¼ x 3 ¾ inches opening to sheet 16 ½ x 30 inches featuring two maps, the largest 10 ¼ x 19 inches depicting the state of Kansas and the rail line of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Rail Road, with shaded areas on both sides of the line indicating Land Grant availability. Text on front cover of folded brochure states: "Kansas, first in corn, first in wheat, first in the hearts of the stock raiser. Latest returns from the great Arkansas Valley, reached via the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe RR." A circular chart indicates the region’s key crops: corn, hay, and wheat, while column after column of text promotes the regions agricultural promise. Brochure extends an invitation to prospective settlers, touting: "Land Explorers round trip tickets good for 40 days." An unusual and informative ephemeral item promoting westward immigration for farmers and cattlemen. Good clean condition. .
