About This Item
Washington, DC: United States Information Agency, 1965. First edition. Rosy view of the U.S. published by the "English Teaching Division, Information Center Service" of the largest propaganda machine of the time, the United States Information Agency [USIA], that interweaves selections from 29 of Frost's poems, as well as 4 complete ones, with a version of American history that's been whipped into a sweet, fluffy froth of pure White Yankee ingenuity. Includes the script for the USIA companion film, "Robert Frost," a 30-minute color film meant to be used as an audio-visual aid for students. Illustrated with black-and-white photographs, including a still from the film showing a group of young men on a college campus in a discussion led by Frost. Also includes a biographical sketch, teacher's guide; and bibliography of Frost's works. 8.25 x 10.5" stapled paperwraps with color photos of "Robert Frost on his Vermont Farm" on front and "Winter in Vermont" on back; 95 pages including poetry indexes (first line & title). Near fine with light rubbing to spine fold.
